So a funny thing happened today and things will never be quite the same again…
After a bit of debate and an obvious lull in general Darns activity between late 2006 and early 2007, Paul has decided to leave the band to pursue musical interests a bit closer to home. With members of band each living in different cities (Paul in Guelph, Tom in Newmarket, and Scott, Ed and Kevin in Toronto) lengthy commutes and late hours for rehearsals, shows and recording began to wear down everyone’s enthusiasm.
The split was amicable and the guys are all still close friends. And although The Darns are no more, Ed, Tom, Kevin and Scott will be continuing on under a new identity, a new sound, and with a new musical outlook.
Thanks to all the friends we’ve met along the way, the bands we’ve shared a stage with, XM Radio, TIMA, The Toronto Indie Podcast, IndieCan and all those who took the time to come out to a show, listen to a CD or just send us words of encouragement. We appreciate it!
